Amey has been awarded a £35 million contract to deliver a range of civil engineering consultancy services across Northern Ireland’s transport network.
The firm will be acting for the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Transport and Road Asset Management (TRAM), the authority responsible for these services.
The TRAM supports delivery of both major and minor highway improvements, active travel schemes, and more sustainable transport infrastructure across the region.
Civil engineering consultancy and associated specialist services specified under the contract include:
- project scoping
- feasibility assessments
- preliminary designs
- procurement assessments
- site supervision
Amey will also provide best value alternatives to traditional professional service procurement on a project-by-project basis as well as sharing best practice procedures and systems for schemes.
The contract will run for three years, with an option to extend for a further two.
Amey also recently secured a £30 million contract to deliver water and engineering services across Northern Ireland on behalf of the DfI, building on a 20-year partnership.
Amey’s new consulting office and design hub in Belfast adds to the company’s growing footprint in the region.
“This new contract for Transport and Road Asset Management (TRAM) consultancy services builds on nearly two decades of collaboration and highlights our shared commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable transport solutions,” said Alex Gilbert, MD for Amey.
“Together, we aim to enhance connectivity, support economic prosperity, and improve the everyday lives of communities across Northern Ireland.”
In October, Amey re-established its investment division to finance demand for new and sustainable infrastructure in the UK and abroad.
The team will support public private investment opportunities, building on Amey’s experience having operated on more than 20 public private partnerships (PPPs).
