Persimmon Homes has agreed a land purchase from property business Mac Mic Group for the construction of 568 new homes and associated infrastructure, as part of a much wider development.
The 78-acre development site will be to the west of Dennyloanhead, Falkirk, bordered by the M80 to the north and the A803 to the south.
It will comprise detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses, with 15 per cent being affordable.
The plans also include:
- the creation of parks
- equipped play areas
- informal open spaces
- green network walking routes
Wider development
The site was included in the Falkirk Local Development Plan for the construction of a new residential neighbourhood to “meet housing needs and facilitate community regeneration and commercial investment”.
Mac Mic Group will independently deliver a local centre with a retail offering and, in partnership with I & H Brown civil engineering, infrastructure upgrades to the M80, unlocking capacity for up to 1,200 new homes on other sites in the area.
“We’re delighted to have secured this land sale to Persimmon Homes East Scotland,” said Bruce Hampton, regional land director (Scotland) at Mac Mic Group.
“This project is a great example of Mac Mic Group working collaboratively with our landowner partners, Local and National Government, a carefully selected project team, and our developer partners to unlock a complicated development site to deliver much-needed new homes that will contribute towards solving the housing emergency.”
UK housebuilder Barratt Redrow recently formed a joint venture partnership with Persimmon to deliver a major housing development in Wiltshire, comprising 2,500 residential homes.
