Bidding has opened for a £200 million six-year building refurbishment works framework for universities in the North East of England.
Established by North Eastern higher education consortium million NEUPC, the works under the framework will involve all aspects of refurbishment works typical of university buildings.
This includes:
- Laboratories
- Small and complex lecture theatres
- Libraries,
- Café
- Commercial kitchens
- Offices (individual and open plan)
- Public areas
- Meeting rooms
- Conference rooms
- Accommodation
- Plant areas
Appointed contractors will also be expected to carry out works in buildings of varying age/condition, listed/heritage type buildings.
The framework is split across nine lots:
Lot One: Refurbishment Works Estimated £0-£250,000 North East – Value: £10 million
Lot Two: Refurbishment Works Estimated £0-£250,000 Yorkshire & Humber – Value: £10 million
Lot Three: Refurbishment Works Estimated £0-£250,000 Midlands – Value: £10 million
Lot Four: Refurbishment Works Estimated £250,000-£1.5 million Yorkshire & Humber – Value: £15 million
Lot Five: Refurbishment Works Estimated £250,000-£1.5 million Midlands – Value: £15 million
Lot Six: Refurbishment Works Estimated £1.5 million – £4 million Yorkshire & Humber – Value: £25 million
Lot Seven: Refurbishment Works Estimated £1.5 million – £4 million Midlands – Value: £25 million
Lot Eight: Refurbishment Works Estimated £4 million – £10 million Yorkshire & Humber – Value: £45 million
Lot Nine: Refurbishment Works Estimated £4 million – £10 million Midlands – Value: £45 million
The framework will be awarded for a period of four years with a possible two-year extension to allow for long term planning of capital projects and complex call off planning and evaluations.
