Facilities Management (FM) company, Mitie Group, has secured a £170 million contract with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to deliver planned and reactive engineering maintenance services across its entire estate.
The four-year contract, covering 209 sites across the capital, comes with the option of two further two-year extensions.
Engineers will deliver specialist mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering services including maintenance, checks, and upgrades across critical building infrastructure.
This includes HVAC, electrical, water, fire and security systems at various sites as well as custody suites, switchboard centres, and Technical Equipment Rooms.
It is the first time The Met has awarded the maintenance contract to a single provider covering North and South London.
The win follows Mitie securing a seven-year FM contract extension with Thales UK, worth £17 million per year.
“Securing this contract across the MPS estate is testament to our track record of maintaining complex infrastructure across large regions, and we’re excited to get started,” said Dan Guest, MD Technical Services, Mitie.
“Our scale and technical expertise will enable us to provide efficient and sustainable spaces, helping London’s police force focus on its critical work.”
