Tom Darby joins from family-run property company Bruntwood where he has worked for the past 10 years.

During his career, Darby has contributed to several Commercial and Research & Development schemes across the UK, including:

  • The £200 million+ Birmingham Health Innovation Campus
  • Glasshouse at Alderley Park outside of Manchester
  • Begbroke Science Park in Oxfordshire

Darby will now support the £100 million Prestwich Village masterplan as well as the Innovation Zone in Salford, part of the wider £2.5 billion, 252-acre Crescent Salford masterplan.

Crescent Salford is being brought forward by ECF – a partnership between Muse, Legal & General, and Homes England, together with Salford City Council and University of Salford.

Darby’s appointment continues Muse’ growth in the North West, with several senior hires in 2024.

Phil Marsden, managing director at Muse – North West, said: “Tom has a wealth of experience, he will be invaluable as we progress our exciting and ambitious pipeline across the region.

“His knowledge of commercial and innovation-led regeneration will be crucial as we push forward with our plans for Crescent Salford and the sustainable regeneration of Prestwich Village.

“The last 12 months have been exceptional in terms of growth and Tom’s appointment marks a strong 2024 in which we have invested in our team and our capabilities across the North West.”

Darby added: “I am proud to be joining Muse and look forward to playing my part supporting the team across the North West.

“Building on the team’s track record, and adding my own experience, we will continue to deliver outstanding regeneration and placemaking.”

Muse recently signed a development agreement with Solihull Council to regenerate the iconic Mell Square shopping hub as part of a wider town centre masterplan.
