Vp Rail, led by director Carl Abraitis, will provide customers with direct access to all the group’s rail specialisms across its divisions.

It aims to be a single point of contact for project support, a central hire desk, and to offer streamlined quotation and invoicing processes regardless of project size.

The launch is part of a group strategy to ensure specialist divisions work more closely to drive growth and focus on end markets.

Vp has a 30-year record of working on the UK railways, including 14 years as a framework contractor to Network Rail.

Torrent Trackside, its principal rail plant, people, and solutions business, already works for many of the tier 1 and 2 contractors and several joint venture partners.

Key projects include the West Coast Main Line, HS1 and HS2, Crossrail, and the TransPennine Route upgrade.

“Vp Torrent Trackside has typically been the entry point for customers wanting to buy our rail expertise,” said Abraitis.

“However, other parts of the group, notably Groundforce, Brandon Hire Station, TPA, ESS, and UK Forks, have specialist capabilities often used by customers on these projects.

“By creating Vp Rail, we are able to offer an integrated package of services from across the group’s divisions.

“This approach has already been well received by a small group of customers. We look forward to rolling out our enhanced offer.”
