Balfour Beatty has announced that the former National Grid New York president has been appointed as a non-executive director.
Rudolph “Rudy” Wynter has more than 35 years experience in the gas and electricity industry in several leadership and senior operational roles.
Most recently Wynter served as president of National Grid New York, leading the company’s regulated energy delivery portfolio and prior to that as chief operating officer of National Grid’s Wholesale Networks & Capital Delivery business.
He gained a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Pratt Institute and a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University in the US.
He is currently a non-executive director, chair of the nominating and corporate governance committee and member of the audit committee of stored energy systems technology provider, EnerSys Inc.
His position as non-executive director at Balfour Beatty will take effect from 1 December 2024.
Lord Charles Allen of Kensington, CBE and chair of Balfour Beatty said: “I am delighted that Rudy has agreed to join us.
“His extensive experience of the development and construction of large complex engineering and capital energy projects will make him a strong addition to Balfour Beatty’s Board, as we continue to realise our growth ambitions for the Group.”
Wynter said: “I look forward to joining the Board of Balfour Beatty and supporting the Group in its continuing success as I look to leverage my experience to shape the opportunities that lie ahead in the delivery of critical infrastructure to meet the challenges of tomorrow.”
