Danish materials manufacturer, ROCKWOOL Group, has acquired Greater Manchester-headquartered building insulation specialist, Wetherby Building Systems, for an undisclosed sum.

Wetherby, in Golborne, will become part of the ROCKWOOL Wall Systems business under the new name Wetherby Wall Systems.

It joins other companies such as ETICS specialists HECK Wall Systems (Germany) and FAST Wall Systems (Poland).

“There is a long-standing relationship between Wetherby and ROCKWOOL, and the match is strong on all significant drivers, from business model and technology to company culture and values,” said Wetherby management.

“I am convinced that inside the ROCKWOOL organisation, Wetherby will benefit from the company’s global expertise, resources, and innovative capabilities.

“This partnership will enable us to continue our growth in the UK market and reinforce our position as a leading provider of design and distribution services for sustainable and non-combustible insulation systems.

“We look forward to the exciting opportunities that this partnership will bring and are committed to delivering exceptional value to our customers and partners.”

Latest accounts for Wetherby for the year ended 31 October 2023 show turnover increased to £47.6 million, while pre-tax profit also rose to £9.8 million.
