The development comprises 442 student bedrooms and 132 Co-Living studios (573 total beds) across two towers in Bristol’s Haymarket.

Plans include the demolition and redevelopment of the Premier Inn site into the 18-storey Co-Living tower and the 28-storey PBSA tower

Olympian is developing St James House in partnership with Cain International and Apollo.

The development will also boast approximately 15,000 sq.ft of amenity space, including:

  • Co-Living: 878.5 sqm of internal amenity and 217 sqm of external amenity
  • PBSA: 647 sqm of internal space and 200 sqm of external space
  • communal roof terraces
  • Lounges
  • Gyms
  • cinema rooms
  • co-working space
  •  2,150 sqm of public realm space, including a new park and public café.

Delivery partners:

  • Partner – Savills
  • Architect – Hodder + Partners

The financing moves Olympian’s in construction deals to over 2 million sq ft.

In April, Olympian and Hines agreed a £121 million deal for a Newcastle Build-to-rent (BTR) scheme.

With the project beginning in 2021, practical completion is expected by academic year 2028/2029.

Several PBSA’s have received the green light around the country including a 784-bed Glasgow student accommodation and a 1,007-bed one in Belfast, developed by Watkin Jones, located on one of Europe’s largest waterfront regeneration projects, Titanic Quarter estate.
