Amey has announced the official opening of its new consulting office and design hub in Belfast.

Located in the heart of the city, the office brings Amey closer to key clients such as Translink, and the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) with which Amey recently secured a £30 million contract to deliver water and engineering services across the country.
As Amey’s new recruitment hub for Northern Ireland, the facility will accommodate 150 employees, with 19 early-career opportunities already created, 37 per cent of which are occupied by women.
As part of the firm’s commitment to reach net zero by 2040, the new office is an eco-friendly workspace, achieving an 80 per cent reduction in carbon emissions, from 42 tonnes per year in the previous office to 8.5 tonnes today.
The new space was opened by minister for infrastructure, Northern Ireland, John O’Dowd.
Alex Gilbert, managing director for Amey’s Consulting business, said: “As a leading infrastructure solutions provider, we are proud to be strengthening our presence in Northern Ireland with the opening of our new Belfast office.
“This new design hub not only allows Amey to better serve our key clients, but also highlights our dedication to recruiting and fostering the best talent, promoting sustainability, and generating positive social value for local communities.
“Our new Belfast office will serve as the foundation for our future growth in Northern Ireland and beyond.”
Recently, an Amey joint venture with public transport operator, Keolis (KeolisAmey), secured an eight-year contract with TfL to operate and maintain the DLR in London.
It followed BAM and Amey securing an £800 million contract to deliver the next phase of work as part of the wider £2 billion TransPennine Route Upgrade West Alliance (TRUWest) project.
