British Land has announced the appointment of a new chief financial officer (CFO).

David Walker will join the Board as an executive director and become CFO on 20 November, replacing incumbent finance chief, Bhavesh Mistry.
Walker joined British Land in 2017 and has been chief operating officer (COO) and an executive committee member since 2021.
He was previously head of investor relations and served as interim CFO of British Land from November 2020 to July 2021.
Walker qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC, before spending more than seven years in various roles within the Corporate Finance division at Deutsche Bank.
He then worked for more than 10 years in investor relations, strategy, finance, and corporate development roles within UK listed businesses.
Until 2023, Walker was chairman of the UK Investor Relations Society, having served on the Board since 2012.
He said: “It’s a privilege to join British Land’s Board and become CFO at such an important and exciting time for our business.
“I will be relentlessly focussed on ensuring British Land is in the best place to take full advantage of the many opportunities we see in our markets.”
British Land CEO, Simon Carter, said: “I am delighted David will be joining the Board as CFO. He has delivered significant value and efficiencies as our chief operating officer and is ideally placed to bring his experience to again lead our expert finance team as we capitalise on the strong momentum in the business.”
