Fresh leadership at JPG Group

Civil and structural engineering consultancy, JPG Group, has announced a change in leadership within its senior team.

David Allwood has been appointed managing director (MD) of the business, he takes over from Chris Harding who moves to a consultancy role after nearly 15 years managing the firm. 

Harding said: “With independence being one of the key drivers for the JPG team, it has given me great pleasure to guide the business to this next step in our internal succession planning.  

“David brings a wealth of experience to the business, and I am delighted to add my personal congratulations and wish him every success for the future.” 

A chartered structural engineer by trade, with more than 25 years’ experience in the construction and commercial property sector, Allwood joined JPG in 2007 and has seen his career within the business progress initially from project engineer.  

This includes significant international experience gained throughout the Middle East, having previously lived and worked to establish the JPG office in Oman as country manager. 

Allwood has been a director with JPG since 2018 and has a proven track record in the delivery of complex schemes from conception, which include commercial, retail, leisure, education and industrial projects. 

He said: “JPG has a proud heritage which spans nearly 40 years, and I am thrilled to take up this new role, leading JPG into what is the next exciting chapter in our history.  

“We have a fantastic business, and our ‘can do’ approach places us at the forefront in the development of the built environment nationwide.  

“I look forward to supporting the team on our continued journey.” 

Established in 1988, JPG employs 45 people within its Leeds and Birmingham locations and provides civil and structural engineering consultancy services for clients throughout the UK.  

It also offers consultancy services in Geo-Environmental Engineering, Strategic Land Engineering, Geospatial Analysis and BIM Services.
