United Living Group has expanded its leadership team with a fresh hire.
Scott Beard has been appointed director of water and joins group subsidiary, United Living Infrastructure Services (ULIS).
United Living said Beard will bolster the water division following the awarding of major AMP8 frameworks over the past six months.
He joins with more than 30 years’ experience in the water industry, having served as head of water engineering at Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, regional water network manager at United Utilities and previously a director at several of the UK’s biggest contractors.
Beard said: “I am delighted to join such a well-respected organisation as United Living, at a period where the water industry will face some of its toughest challenges in delivering world-class regulatory performance whilst investing record amounts in its infrastructure across water and wastewater services.
“I look forward to helping our clients both existing and new, to deliver these outcomes which benefit all customers and stakeholders for generations to come.”
Beard’s appointment follows recent growth by the company, including the acquisition of a majority stake in two businesses operating in the renewable energy market and specialist engineering firm AFECO before that.
The group secured contracts worth £1.7 billion during the last financial period across all four of its business pillars and reported a secured order book worth £3 billion.
United Living also won significant investment from global asset management firm Apollo Impact last year.
Group revenues for the year ended 31 March 2023 increased 22 per cent to £534 million, compared to £437 million in the previous financial period.
ULIS MD, Conor Bray, said: “United Living has experienced significant growth as the delivery partner across the UK’s leading clean and wastewater infrastructure projects.
“Scott joins as water companies prepare for record investment during AMP8 and challenging regulatory targets.
“He brings a wealth of experience to our established water teams as we continue to support utility companies and deliver innovative solutions.”
