reporter

HSS Group has welcomed new senior hires with a combined 100 years of experience following the announcement of the tool and equipment hire company’s rebrand and leadership restructuring.

HSS: The Hire Service Company

Mark Browning joins HSS as its chief financial officer, while Daniel Champion has been appointed the new commercial director.

Yesterday, the company announced the appointment of Jon Overman as the new CEO of the traditional tool hire division with his first action to update its trading name from HSS Hire to HSS: The Hire Service Company.

Browning joins the tool and equipment hire company from solar energy company Anesco Ltd. where he worked for six years, starting as finance director before stepping up to the company’s CFO.

Browning said on social media: “I’m happy to share that I’ve started a new position as Chief Financial Officer at HSS: The Hire Service Company!

“We’ve updated the trading name a little to celebrate our focus on service, and I’m proud to be a founding member of this new chapter for such an established and iconic brand.”

Meanwhile, Champion is rejoining HSS: The Hire Service Company after previously working there between 2009 to 2017.

While there he worked in various roles from business development manager and Thames Water account manager to key account manager before leaving to join Charles Wilson Engineers Ltd where he worked as access sales manager.

He then returned to HSS in 2018 in its ProService Marketplace division as key account director.

Champion said: “I’m delighted to share that I’ve started a new job!

“Well, within the same HSS Group – but we’ve got a slightly new name to celebrate our focus on service.

“I’m proud to be a founding member of HSS: The Hire Service Company.”

HSS is the UK’s original tool and equipment hire company, founded in 1957, with a nationwide network of 100 plus merchant locations, branches and distribution and maintenance centres across the UK.

A new team of long-standing HSSers with over 100 years experience in total now forms the executive team of the newly rebranded company.
