The Hollis Croft development in the city will be constructed with buildings rising to seven floors to the west of the scheme through to 17 floors to the east.

When finished, it will comprise up to 234 apartments as well as commercial space at the ground floor level.

The JV has again appointed ACS Engineering to oversee the following aspects of the project: compliance and delivery of foundations and structural frame and facades.

Torsion Construction will undertake all aspects of the on-site delivery acting as main contractor, with Torsion Developments acting as development managers.

Leeds architectural practice Den Architecture and structural engineering firm TRP Consulting Limited in Manchester are also understood to be involved with the Hollis Croft development.

The project represents Torsion’s second scheme in the city and first BtR.

The contract follows Richard Potts and Priesh Soni being appointed regional directors for the North and Midlands at Torsion Construction – and Torsion Group promoting David Worsley to chief operating officer (COO).

As part of its strategic growth plans, Torsion has expanded its operations in the North West as well as its market presence in the PBSA, senior living, homes and residential sectors, increasing average project sizes to £54 million.

Completion of Hollis Croft is expected in mid-2026.
