Bowmer and Kirkland have been selected as the main contractor for a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) in Bristol.
Canada Life Asset Management, in partnership with the University of West England, secured planning permission for the development.
Bowmer and Kirkland has been awarded the contract, for an undisclosed sum, to deliver 330 student bedrooms.
The project is designed by architect Stride Treglow.
The building is expected to rise from five storeys to nine storeys in a spiraling pattern, arranged around a central courtyard containing communal areas and study spaces.
The plans also include planting and soft landscaping to help achieve biodiversity net gain.
Works are due to begin Q3 2024 and are expected to finish Q1-2 2026..
It plans to be ‘highly sustainable’, targeting EPC A, WiredScore Platinum and BREEAM ‘excellent’ at minimum as well as targeting net zero carbon in operation.
The development is led by JLL, Canada Life Asset Management’s development.
