Bouygues UK has posted a downturn in revenue and series of losses in its latest financial statement.
Revenue for the year ended 31 December 2023 was £325.6 million, down from the £382.6 million achieved in the previous financial period, generating a pre-tax loss of £62.1 million (FY2022: £41.8 million loss).
The London-headquartered contractor generated an operating loss last year of £77.1 million, deeper than in the prior financial year (£46.2 million loss).
Bouygues UK’s portfolio includes education, residential, student accommodation, healthcare, and mixed-use developments where it operates primarily as a lead building contractor.
Net assets and total equity at 31 December 2023 were valued at £26.3 million, down slightly from the £29.2 million achieved the year before, with cash reserves of £188 million, ahead of £173.9 million in FY2022.
The company also declared no dividends were paid to shareholders or proposed during the financial period (FY2022: £ Nil).
Bouygues UK posted a financial loss for the year at 31 December 2023 of £52.5 million, compared to a £36.3 million loss in the prior trading period.
