The company was again recognised by the annual King’s Awards for Enterprise, this time for Sustainable Development.

Last year, the contractor won an award in the category of Promoting Opportunity.

A total of 252 organisations have been recognised nationally with a King’s Award for Enterprise.

This is the fifth time the contractor has achieved this accolade since 2014, and the third time it has been recognised by the awards for its work in Sustainable Development.

The accolade follows progress made by Willmott Dixon to be zero-carbon in its own operations without offsetting by 2030, which includes the following initiatives:

• Reduced carbon relative to turnover by 80 per cent since 2010

• Achieving carbon neutral status for 11 years

• Growing work in net zero operations projects

• Investing in circular economy schemes

• Low-emission vehicles for staff

• Energy Synergy services and Community Solar products

Willmott Dixon chief executive, Graham Dundas, said: “The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the pre-eminent way to recognise outstanding achievements by UK businesses and it’s very humbling that this award has been bestowed on Willmott Dixon for a fifth time.

“Our purpose is to leave a world fit for future generations, both by reducing the impact of our operations and by delivering future-climate-ready buildings for our customers that use less carbon in construction and operation.”
