Civil and structural engineering consultancy Perega has added to its senior management team.

Greg Schmidt has been appointed the new head of civil engineering at the Surrey-headquartered firm.
During his more than 20 years of experience, Schmidt worked at some of the UK’s most well-established consultancies, including transport infrastructure firm RGP and residential developer Croudace Homes.
He was involved in one of the largest UK rail-served logistics developments, the West Midlands Interchange project, where he managed the design team who were responsible for the bulk infrastructure design.
He also spent five years working in the mining industry in South Africa.
As head of civils, Schmidt will manage teams across all Perega’s offices and oversee their project portfolios, while growing the firm’s footprint in the civils and infrastructure sector.
Managing director, Fraser Robb, said: “Greg is one of the most talented practitioners in the industry, having worked on an impressive portfolio of projects throughout his 22-year career.
“He brings a unique take on the profession with him, as well as a wealth of knowledge and skills when it comes to providing consultancy on big projects. This will be invaluable to us as we look to make deeper inroads into this particular niche.
“Not only that, he will also be tasked with expanding the size and competence of the civils team, bringing on new engineers to deliver on highly specific briefs.
“As an ECB-certified cricket coach, we’re confident he’ll bring his talent-spotting skills into bat, nurturing a winning line-up which will knock the competition for six every time.”
