250 jobs created for £70m Liverpool residential

Sourced Development Group’s (SDG) ‘Scholar’s Court’ will be home to 310 apartments close to the city centre.

One to two-bedroom apartments will be spread across nine floors and four buildings between Blackstock Street and Paul Street. 

The site is a short distance from the Waterloo Dock and the River Mersey

Features in the plan include: 

  • Outdoor community space. 
  • Parking facilities. 
  • Cycle storage. 

SDG expects to complete construction in June 2025. 

Sourced Construction Group is the main contractor.

Newry Construction will be on-site for the next six weeks to complete the enabling works, and piling will start shortly after this.

The scheme seeks to create more than 250 jobs during construction. 

Full Scope

SDG’s other work in Liverpool includes: 

  • The £100m Westminster Park project. Phase one was completed three months ahead of schedule. 
  • The Derby Court project comprises 22 apartments on West Derby Road. 

These projects are a part of Liverpool’s £14 billion regeneration project set to revamp critical areas in the city, including: 

  • £5.5 billion Liverpool Waters mixed-use development. 
  • £2 billion Knowledge Quarter. 
  • Stonebridge Cross. 
  • £200 million Pall Mall scheme. 
  • £39 million Lime Street Gateway scheme. 

“Scholar’s Court will blend an exciting mix of urban and premium living whilst recognising the part it is playing in bringing to life a strategic site on the edge of the city centre,” said Joanne Waller, managing director of SDG.
