Persimmon Homes has won permission to bring more than 1,400 new homes as part of a major new development in East Devon.
Its South West division secured consent for the new community in Cranbrook from East Devon District Council.
A mix of 1,435 apartments and houses will be constructed.
A new 630-space primary school and SEN school will be built, as well as a community centre and place of worship, allotments, and a cemetery.
The scheme will also have public realm, and 10 serviced pitches for the traveller community.
The design also incorporates a considered SUDS strategy, country park, SANGs (Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space) and six play areas.
Persimmon has agreed to transfer 215 properties to a social housing provider for rent and shared ownership.
