Building work for a new hospice comes as part of Ayrshire Hospice’s redevelopment project.
Clearing and demolition were carried out by the firm in December 2022 and are now complete, making way for the new hospice.
The breaking ground ceremony included representatives from McLaughlin & Harvey, NHS Ayrshire & Arran, and the three local authorities.
Ayrshire Hospice CEO Tracy Flynn led the ceremony.
The site is set to re-open in Summer 2024.
“McLaughlin & Harvey is delighted to have marked the first official milestone of our Ayrshire Hospice project,” said John McClintock, McLaughlin & Harvey’s operations director – healthcare.
“We bring with us a wealth of previous healthcare experience, and look forward to undertaking the substructure and structural works on this meaningful project in the coming weeks.”
