Balfour Beatty £160m hospital contract

NHS Highland appoints firm as managing contractor of Lochaber and Caithness facilities. 

As the Principal Supply Chain Partner, Balfour Beatty will lead the design and construction of: 

• the new hospital in Fort William.
• the refurbishment of Caithness General in Wick

An investment of £160 million across five-to-seven years has been put toward rural general hospitals in the Highlands, which includes these two projects.

In the construction of the hospitals, Balfour Beatty will be working with:

• Horner + MacLennan
• Hulley & Kirkwood
• Mott MacDonald
• Buchan Associates

The firm previously worked with NHS Highland on delivering new hospitals in Broadford and Aviemore, and a National Treatment Centre in Inverness.
