Willmott Dixon has ‘topped out’ a new residential project for the University of Oxford.

The firm recently reached the highest point of a new student accommodation scheme for St Peter’s College.

Built to Passivhaus standard, the scheme will provide 54 bedrooms for students across four storeys.

What is Passivhaus?

Passivhaus refers to builds created to rigorous energy-efficient design standards, so they maintain an almost constant temperature.

Split across two buildings, it will also include a podium garden with paved and planted areas, with further enhancements to the existing Canal House garden and links to the main college site.

“The building will be in keeping with the college’s philosophy of ‘honouring the past, building for the future’, allowing students to benefit from housing in one of the UK’s most sustainable residences,” said Richard Poulter, Willmott’s managing director in the south.

The new accommodation will be complete in the autumn.
