McLaren Property leads £450m scheme in Manchester

McLaren Property has revealed plans for a new student and life sciences development in Manchester valued at £450 million, it has been reported.

The developer arm of McLaren Construction is partnering with Kadans Science Partner on the Upper Brook Street scheme in Ardwick, according to Business Live. 

Property Alliance Group and Moda Living are also understood to be leading the development. 

A 740-bed student accommodation and around 218,500 sq ft of technical property space would be created by McLaren and Kadans. 

While Moda and Alliance would create 470,000 sq ft of life sciences space and 1,100 student bedrooms, the report adds. 

A new community centre, retail and cafes, and a GP is also proposed.

McLaren development director David Atherton said it is a “collective effort to regenerate this suite of disused sites”. 

McLaren was approached for further information.
