ISG has started construction of a new data centre in West London.
by Rory Butler / March 2, 2023
The firm was appointed to the London 4 Data Centre development in Hayes by Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS).
Colt DCS is building two hyperscale data centre buildings with a combined 57MW capacity.
It marks Colt’s third and fourth hyperscale data centres in the region.
There is also land on site to develop a third 30MW data centre, said Colt, potentially bringing the total power to 87MW.
Up to 350 construction jobs and 50 apprenticeships, as well as 230 permanent jobs, will result from the development.

Sustainability
The Hayes buildings will use 100% renewable energy, heat pump technology, and back-up biodiesel powered generators.
Social value
Colt DCS has committed to working with local schools to create an understanding of, and pathway to, jobs in the technology sector.
Colt was reportedly granted permission to clear the site for its own data centres in 2021.
The first phase is expected to complete in Q1 2025.
