The firm is the main contractor on the Oriel eye hospital and research centre project, at the St Pancras Hospital site in King’s Cross.
Preparation works began at the two-acre site in autumn last year under an early works agreement.
Demolition of six existing buildings will happen at the end of February to enable construction.
Construction of the 10-storey, 47,000-sqm centre will start later this year.
Oriel is a joint initiative between Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Charity.
It is part of a government programme to deliver 48 new hospitals across England by 2030.
“Social value will be key for us,” said Fabienne Viala, chair of Bouygues Construction in the UK. “We are looking forward to working with the Oriel partners, Camden Council and the Knowledge Quarter to unlock training and employment opportunities for local people to create a lasting legacy in the community.”
The building is due to open in 2027.
