The business, part of M Group Services Transport Division, was awarded the contract by Suffolk County Council.
The new partnership, which ends the local authority’s arrangement with incumbent Kier, could run up to 20 years.
Milestone’s remit includes, but is not limited to, maintaining roads, pavements and Rights of Way, drainage, hedge trimming, construction of new road schemes, snow clearing and gritting.
It said the deal is worth in the region of £800 million to £1 billion.
“We are committed to creating local jobs for local people to support our delivery, in addition to local supply chain partners adding value to the Suffolk economy,” said Matthew Riches, operations director for Milestone.
“Our commitment to exceptional delivery will also focus on working collaboratively with the council to meet their net-zero carbon targets and enhancing biodiversity.”
The new contract begins in October.
