Network Rail has published a time lapse video of upgrades to Banbury train depot in Oxfordshire.
by Rory Butler / February 1, 2023
The footage captures six months of new lines being built as part of a £9.4 million scheme.
The depot expansion precedes the realignment of 2 km of railway between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, to allow HS2 tracks to pass under.
Access to Chiltern Railways’ Aylesbury depot will be limited during that time – hence the Banbury upgrade.

- Four new railway sidings
- Four new signals
- 950 m of new track
