Major redevelopment plans afoot for midlands city

Plans for a major mixed-use development in Derby have been submitted.

Derbion shopping centre owners have sought outline planning permission to redevelop two sites in the city – the Eagle Quarter, and the Bradshaw Way Retail Park. 

The scheme is part of the Derbion Masterplan, which ties into the proposed Eastern Gateway for new shops and leisure. 

Eagle Quarter   

  • 11 apartment blocks 
  • 875 homes 
  • 25,000 sq ft commercial space 

Existing buildings would be demolished. The highest block would be 29 storeys. 

Bradshaw Way Retail Park 

  • five new blocks 
  • 420 homes 
  • 50,000 sq ft office space   
  • 5,100 sq ft commercial space 

The highest block would be 19 storeys.
