Network Rail has awarded J Murphy & Sons the first of two contracts to build a new railway station as part of a wider regeneration scheme.

Inside the deal: Construction of a new train station for the Beaulieu development in Chelmsford – valued at £37.8 million.
The first phase includes earthworks, civils, and track and signalling modifications to facilitate main construction, part of a second contract to be awarded in the coming months.
Beaulieu Park station features
- Three platforms with a central loop line and new tracks
- Two lifts
- Bus interchange
- Parking for +700 cars
- Toilets, baby change facilities
- Retail/catering space
Main construction will start later this year, with completion expected end of 2025.
It will support the new Chelmsford Garden Community.
