Mace to deliver Woolgate Exchange retrofit

Mace has been appointed main contractor for the full refurbishment of the landmark Woolgate Exchange for office space.

The firm was selected for the newly named ‘Woolgate’ scheme by Stanhope and the Woolgate Exchange Unit Trust (WEUT). 

  • More than 20,000 sq ft of terraces on most upper floors 
  • Enlarged reception area leading onto Basinghall Street 
  • New entrance on Coleman Street 
  • New ‘pocket park’ and retail amenity 

A 1,500 sq ft rooftop pavilion with views of St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Square Mile is also planned.  

The nine-storey retrofit aims to preserve 98% of the existing structure through a ‘reuse and retention strategy’, said Mace.

  • 4.5 NABERS rating 
  • BREEAM rating: ‘Excellent’

Construction is due to start in Q1 of 2023.
