Kier is the main contractor in the HMP Glasgow Strategic Alliance, the delivery team for the £100 million facility.
The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) awarded Kier the preconstruction services contract.
The new jail will be built on a 54-acre site at the former Provan Gas Works and replace the Victorian-era HMP Barlinnie.

Kier will also support the SPS through its “Making Ground” programme, a serving prisoner and prison leaver employment scheme.
Further planning applications are expected throughout the year.
Construction will complete in 2026.
