First images of the proposed Cornwall College St Austell have been released by BAM, the main contractor for the upgrade project.
The new campus, in conjunction with The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), is one of 16 colleges in England whose transformation is funded by the UK Government’s £1.5 billion Further Education Capital Transformation Fund.
The state-of-the-art facility is valued at £24 million.
The modern design by BAM has been welcomed by TCCG, including for its aspiration to be “one of the first carbon neutral colleges in the UK”.
“We set out not just to create a super new learning facility, but to establish a first-rate strength of understanding with our partners which drives our ability to innovate, find additional sustainability, add social value, to deliver on programme and solve problems through intelligent use of technology,” said Tim Chell, Regional Director, BAM.
