Willmott Dixon’s £50m leisure and blue light brace

Willmott Dixon has been appointed to deliver two separate schemes totalling £50 million.

Project One: 

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS)  

  • New headquarters, training centre and fire station 
  • £26 million 
  • Procured via the SCAPE framework 

The firm will demolish the existing buildings in Birkenshaw, southeast Bradford. 

Local jobs and training opportunities have been created on site.  

The new urban search and rescue training centre will open in 2024. 

Project Two: 

‘Splashes’ – a new leisure centre   

  • Swimming pools, gym, fitness studio and café 
  • £23.7 million 
  • Appointed by Medway Council   

The former ‘Splashes’ was demolished in February. 

Work at Bloors Lane in Rainham will begin in the new year. 

The new facility should open Summer 2024.
