O’Connor Utilities (OCU) bought the Surrey firm to expand its existing in-house power systems design capabilities – and to play a key role in the UK’s energy transition.
Andrews delivers power systems design and engineering services across transmission, distribution, and renewable energy markets.
Manchester-based OCU said the move supports its growth strategy into non-regulated energy and power markets:
- Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS)
- Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Networks
- Private Wire Connections
The initiative was spearheaded by Vince Bowler, managing director of OCU’s Instalcom division, and senior operations director for power and energy, Liam O’Sullivan.
“This acquisition represents another significant step in our ambition to become a leader in the provision of intelligent engineering for the design, procurement and construction of power systems to reinforce and maintain the UK’s Critical Network Infrastructure,” said Mr Bowler.
